Spatial Planning

Spatial and Land-use Planning consists of the spatial translation of the economic, social, cultural and ecological policies of society in territory (…) It is at the same time a scientific discipline, an administrative technique and a policy developed as an interdisciplinary and comprehensive approach directed towards a balanced regional development and the physical organisation of space according to an overall strategy. (…)” (European Charter of Spatial Planning, 1983).

The Use Concept provides services in Spatial and Land-use Planning, with the objective of properly articulating the forms and functions of and over the geographic space (Oliveira, J.A., 2015), in order to guarantee the territorial development and the improvement of the environmental, social and economic quality.
